About me...
My name is Rebecca Morris, an artist based in North Wales, originally from the North East of England. I am married to Steve, and we have three beautiful daughters.
I have loved art from a young age and studied it throughout school, college, and university. I have always enjoyed creating, especially drawing and working with colour, but I often felt more confident copying than finding my own voice.
That changed in my second year at university when my faith became a central part of my life. This experience transformed how I see the world and how I create. It helped me discover my own voice and a deeper sense of purpose in my work.
I am interested in what colour can do—how it carries energy, creates feeling, and changes the way we see things. I begin with real subjects such as a leaf, a flower, a person, or a place, but I don’t aim to copy them exactly. Instead, I use bold colour, strong contrasts, and intuitive mark-making to move away from realism.
I work with high saturation and strong composition to simplify and reshape what I see, exploring both what is visible and what is felt rather than seen. I am drawn to the space between perception and experience, where colour, light, and form suggest something beyond what is directly in front of us.
