Hello, my name is Rebecca Morris. I am an artist based in North Wales, originally from the North East of England. I am married to Steve, and together we have three beautiful daughters.

Growing up, I always loved being creative. I pursued art in school and college, eventually moving on to university to study Fine Art. During this time, I developed my skills and explored many ways to express creativity.

In my early schooling, I loved drawing and working with colour, creating bold and vibrant pieces. I was driven by a desire to communicate something meaningful, yet I felt I had nothing to say and lacked a clear vision. I became skilled at imitation, but less confident in expressing an authentic voice of my own.

That changed in my second year at university, when a God I wasn’t even looking for found me and completely captured my heart, sparking a new creativity and passion. This fresh inspiration began to shape me from the inside out. I discovered I had a voice that was my own, and images within me waiting to be expressed.

Colour is my passion—bold, vibrant, and full of life. I often paint with a dark primer, which I layer with colour to create contrast and capture attention. For me, this process carries meaning: beginning with a black or deep foundation reflects life springing forth from darkness, like hope breaking through in unexpected ways.

I work primarily in acrylic paint because it allows me to move freely, quickly, and energetically. My work sits within both form and contemporary abstract expressionism. My process is intuitive; I enjoy letting colour and form flow together, creating work that feels alive—there is always a conversation happening as I paint.

My desire is that my work not only be visually striking, but also stir something deeper. Subject matter is often secondary to creating work that speaks to the heart—offering glimpses of hope, renewal, and life.
